| 9 January 2007 This past weekend, the Saskatoon Redwing
Novice 1 Storm defeated another Redwing team (Roughnecks) in the A
side final of the Moose Jaw Novice Tournament. In an extremely
exciting final, a last minute goal to finish 5-4 was the only
difference between the two teams. It was a great game that could
have been won by either team. A great statement for the quality of
Redwing hockey.
The Redwing Storm had a great tournament, finishing the round robin
1-1 and in 5th place. We went on to defeat Shaunavon, who were in
second after the round robin, 6-5 after being down 3-0 in the first
period. In the second round of the playoffs, the Storm defeated the
Saskatoon Knight Snipers 5-4 after being down 4-0 early in the game.
It was a great experience for the boys.
