Mentoring…
- Involves providing coaches with a secondary and continuous
source of coaching education and support.
- Provides players with more knowledgeable coaches, further
enhancing enjoyment of the game.
- Provides coaches with the opportunity for personal growth
and development.
The Redwing Zone is very fortunate to have a group of highly
skilled coaches. These coaches have overwhelmingly consented to the
implementation of a Mentorship program. Mentoring can take many
shapes and forms. Mentoring is not a new idea nor is it complicated
in its basic form. More experienced coaches (mentors) work with
beginner or less experienced coaches (mentorees), providing feedback
and encouragement in supporting the development of coaches. This may
involve a quick phone-call, and email or, for those Mentors willing,
a visit to a practice and some on-ice assistance.
With everyone's efforts, we are hoping that as a result, coaching
becomes more enjoyable, and in the end, everyone benefits -
particularly the players.
Please feel free to contact any of the coaches below.
