AA
Provincial Champions! |
added 29 March 2004
The Redwings Peewee I team captured the Provincial AA Championship with a convincing 5-goal series win over the Balgonie Prairie Storm.
The home and home series started Friday March 26 in Pilot Butte with a 14-8 Redwing victory, and wrapped up in Saskatoon on Sunday March 28, where the Redwings were on the short end of a 3-2 score but were able to celebrate the Championship in front of home town fans, winning the series 16-11.
The road to the Provincial AA Championship started with a 2-game sweep of their city rival the Flyers, qualifying the Redwings as the City representative for Provincial playoffs, followed by a home and home series win over the Battleford Barons and then on to victory over
Balgonie.
A review of the SHA "Hockey Trail" reflects that this is the first Peewee AA Provincial Championship for the Zone 'G' Redwings.
Congratulations to all the Redwing players and Coaching staff!
