Heroic Cats (Chapter 2)

by Dennis Wendel

On the last day of April at the Wheatland Open, our brave cat saves his mistress from the devious plot of her awful foe Thelma.

My mistress was confident that her national ranking would guarantee her a good first pool aht the Wheatlands. The venue was filled with fencers warming-up. The unmistakeable sound of clashing blades was everywhere. Suddenly I spied the wicked Thelma at the computer assigning my mistress the dreaded 999. I tore through the gym scattering fencers, knocking over epees and frightening presidents in my haste to reach Thelma and foil her nefarious plan. With my last breath I knocked Thelma on the Ctrl Alt Del keys, wiping out her evil plan. Seeing this, the goodly Anna-beth keyed in the proper rankings. All the while my mistress sat serenely reading FIE Rules and Regulations under the protection of God, country, Anna-beth, and her devoted cat.
