Affiliations

The best and easiest way to register is to use the Online Registration Form.  However, please read the detailed class descriptions on this page before going to the online registration form.

Official in-person registration at Salle Seguin Fencing Training Centre, 414 1st Ave. N., 7:00 to 9:00 pm, on Tuesday, August 30th, Wednesday, August 31st, and Thursday, September 1st. Ongoing registration all season long!

Fencing for the 2016-17 season starts on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016.

The SFC classes for 2016-17 are:

Mighty Knights (4-6 years old) - $110 per semester:

  • This is a class for young boys and girls geared towards play, fun, and imagination.  It features foam swords and protective masks for the kids.  It's all about developing skills to play while fencing.
  • 45-minute-long class for 7 weeks, offered 4 times per season
  •  Saturdays, 10:00 am to 10:45 am
  • There are 4 offerings in 2016-17:
    • Semester 1 - Saturday, September 10th, 2016 to Saturday, October 15th, 2016
    • Semester 2 - Saturday, November 5th, 2016 to Saturday, December 10th, 2016
    • Semester 3 - Saturday, January 14th, 2017 to Saturday, February 25th, 2017 (1 week break on February 18th)
    • Semester 4 - Saturday, March 11th, 2017 to Saturday, April 15th, 2017

Learn-to-Fence (7-11 years old) - $165 per semester:

  • This is a class for girls and boys with an emphasis on learning the basic movements and skills of fencing, while also learning about general physical fitness, fun, and learning how to be active young person.
  • 1-hour-long class for 7 weeks, offered 4 times per season
  • Thursdays, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • No Eligibility to Compete in Local/Provincial Tournaments
  • There are 4 offerings in 2016-17:
    • Semester 1 - Thursday, September 8th, 2016 to Thursday, October 20th, 2016
    • Semester 2 - Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 to Thursday, December 15th, 2016
    • Semester 3 - Thursday, January 12th, 2017 to Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 (1 week break on February 16th)
    • Semester 4 - Thursday, March 9th, 2017 to Thursday, April 27th, 2017 (1 week break on April 20th, 2017)

Beginner (12-15 year old) - $185 per semester:

  • This is a class for young males and females that focuses on the basic and general skills of fencing. It provides for an expanded instruction from the Learn to Fence Class, but it also perfect for someone who is just starting out of for the first time with fencing within this age category. Emphasis is on the sport of fencing and athletic development.
  • 1-hour-long class for 7 weeks, offered 4 times per season
  • Mondays, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Eligible to Compete at Local/Provincial tournaments in Under-13 years old Category (Pending Saskatchewan Fencing Association Approval Fall 2016)
  • There are 4 offerings in 2016-17:
    • Semester 1 - Monday, September 12th, 2016 to Monday, October 31st, 2016 (1 week break on October 10th, 2016)
    • Semester 2 - Monday, November 7th, 2016 to Monday, December 19th, 2016
    • Semester 3 - Monday, January 9th, 2017 to Monday, February 27th, 2017 (1 week break on February 13th, 2017)
    • Semester 4 - Monday, March 6th, 2017 to Monday, April 24th, 2017 (1 week break on April 17th, 2017)

Intermediate (Experience- and Age-Determined) - 1st Term $440 / 2nd Term $310:

  • This class is an expansion of the skills and techniques taught in the Learn to Fence and Beginner classes. It provides for more individual and group instruction of the skills of fencing from the attending coaches. Here you will learn the intermediate skills, tactics and movements of fencing. This class is to assist in the transition to our Regular membership level, have no fear, spend a couple seasons in it if you would like, but rest assured after only one season you will be ready to move on to the next level!
  •  90-minute-long class for 14 weeks, offered two times per season
  • Wednesdays, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm (bonus instruction on Saturdays, 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, routinely announced throughout the season)
  • Requires a CFF/SFA license purchase - $130 CFF
  • Eligible to Participate in Local/Provincial and out-of-province tournaments.
  • There are two offerings in 2016-17:
    • Term 1 - Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 to Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 (1 week break on October 26th, 2016)
    • Term 2 - Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 to Wednesday, April 26th, 2017 (1 week break on February 15th, 2017 and 1 week break on April 19th, 2017)

Regular - No Lesson - $900 per season 

  • Intermediate, advanced drills and fencing footwork sessions are a regular part of this group.
  • Open fencing Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
    • Monday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm,
    • Wednesday: 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm,
    • Saturday: 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
  • Requires a CFF/SFA license purchase - $130 CFF
  • Eligible to Participate in Local/Provincial and out-of-province tournaments.
  • Season starts Monday, August 29th, 2016 (no fencing on statutory holidays)
  • Last day of fencing before Christmas break is Friday, December 23rd, 2016
  • Return from Christmas break - Monday, January 2nd, 2017
  • Last day of fencing before summer break - May 19th, 2017

Regular - 1 Individual Lesson per week - $1,400 per season:

  • Intermediate, advanced drills and fencing footwork sessions are a regular of this group but also include one individual lesson with our certified coaches to improve and master techniques.
  • Open fencing Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
    • Monday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm,
    • Wednesday: 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm,
    • Saturday: 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
  • Requires a CFF/SFA license purchase - $130 CFF
  • Eligible to Participate in Local/Provincial and out-of-province tournaments.
  • Last day of fencing before Christmas break is Friday, December 23rd, 2016
  • Return from Christmas break - Monday, January 2nd, 2017
  • Last day of fencing before summer break - May 19th, 2017

Regular - 2 Individual Lessons per week - $1,700 per season:

  • For our most advanced fencers, or those who want to improve the quickest, 2 individual lessons a week on top of the Regular open sessions. This is a category for those who love to learn or who are driven to take fencing to the next level of sporting.
  • Open fencing Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
    • Monday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm,
    • Wednesday: 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm,
    • Saturday: 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
  • Requires a CFF/SFA license purchase - $130 CFF
  • Eligible to Participate in Local/Provincial and out-of-province tournaments.
  • Last day of fencing before Christmas break is Friday, December 23rd, 2016
  • Return from Christmas break - Monday, January 2nd, 2017
  • Last day of fencing before summer break - May 19th, 2017

Adult Beginner - $185 per semester:

  • A laid-back class for adults looking to learn the basic skills of fencing, get some general fitness in, and be engaged with a positive social group. This class includes Individual and Group Instruction from our accredited coaches. It also includes mingling with our Fit For Life Class, and the U of S beginner class as means to expand your social and fencing network.
  • 1-and-1/2 hour-long class for 7 weeks, offered 4 times per season
  • Wednesdays, 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm
  • Eligible to compete in Master Category Events at Local/Provincial tournaments. Must meet the Age criteria (Pending Saskatchewan Fencing Association Approval Fall 2016)
  • There are 4 offerings in 2016-17:
    • Semester 1 - Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 to Wednesday, October 19th, 2016
    • Semester 2 - Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 to Wednesday, December 14th, 2016
    • Semester 3 - Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 to Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 (1 week break on February 15th, 2017)
    • Semester 4 - Wednesday, March 8th, 2017 to Wednesday, April 26th, 2017 (1 week break on April 19th, 2017)

Fit For Life - $260 per semester:

  • Senior/Adult general open fencing. This class promotes a more laid back approach to fencing compared to the Regular membership. Most people who are enrolled in this class were at one time regular members, but life is busy, or some of those younger up and coming fencers are moving a little too quick these days. These members are always welcome to participate in the open fencing times, but a special slot is available to engage with the Adult Beginners and the U of S Beginners to enjoy some new company.
  • 1-and-1/2 hour-long class for 7 weeks, offered 4 times per season
  • Wednesdays, 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm
  • Welcome to participate in all open fencing times
  • Eligible to compete in Master Category Events at Local/Provincial tournaments. Must meet the Age criteria (Pending Saskatchewan Fencing Association Approval Fall 2016)
  • There are 4 offerings in 2016-17:
